CDI Integration

CDI Components – Integration Service: The Integration Services allow data to be passed to and retrieved from the CDI. All source systems are ‘plugged’ into the CDI using these Integration Services.

The source systems provide an electronic interface for the Integration Services to call (such as web services, text files or stored procedures for). These allow data to be pushed to or pulled from the source systems. Data is typically exchanged with the Integration Services using Extensible Markup Language (XML).

For data being passed to the CDI, the Integration Service calls the source systems interface and transforms the data into a standard format. If the data passes the Business Rules, then the Integration Services will store the data in the CDI Hub.

When data is passed from the CDI to a source system, then the Integration Services will read the data from the CDI Hub, transform this into a format required by the source systems and call the appropriate interface within the source system.

The Integration Services are typically implemented using middleware packages (such as BizTalk) or bespoke software.
